How long do the treatments take?

The treatment is immediate and takes approximately 30 minutes.

How long does it last?

Lip Enhancement lasts up to one year, depending on the area being treated, the depth of the lines, the condition of the skin and the lifestyle of the individual. Most people return at 6 – 9 months for a topup.

How it works?

Lip enhancement can be carried out in two steps; pouting and contouring. To create a more pronounced mouth and fuller lips, It is injected into the inside of the upper and/or lower lip. This is often combined with the marking of the contour of the lip by injecting the gel along the lip line. Redefining this edge leads to a more youthful and appealing look. It also prevents lipstick "bleeding" into the small lines around the lips. The lines that go up towards the nose (philtrum ridges) can be defined by injecting the gel into them. To achieve the optimal result, a combination of these steps is often used. When treating the lips, pain relief in the form of local anaesthesia is often used.

Where does it go when it is broken down?

The Clinic's Lip Enhancment is metabolised slowly into the skin. Once broken down it passes through the liver quickly and is broken down into carbon dioxide and water. Lip Enhancement is safer because it contains no animal proteins, allergens or chemicals.

How does it feel?

The Clinic's Lip Enhancement treatment involves injection into the skin, you therefore may experience some discomfort, however local anaesthetic creams and injections can be used to minimise pain.

Possible side effects

The side effects of the treatment may include swelling, redness and occasional bruising. Swelling is the most likely effect because it attracts the bodies own water to the area. Other side effects may include minor lumps, itching or tenderness, which usually resolve quickly. After treatment you may have slightly pinker skin and some swelling.

What will I look like if I decide against further treatment? Will I be more wrinkled?

The skin will return to its original state prior to treatment if you decide against further treatments.

Can I go straight back to work after treatment?

Yes but for the first treatment it is probably better to schedule your appointment for the end of the day and preferably the end of the week.
