Photodynamic Post Care

No sun exposure for 3 days following treatment. A hat and SPF 30+ must be used at all times (2-3 times daily).

Limit exposure to bright/fluorescent lighting.

The skin will appear reddened post procedure. Skin Irregularities such as pigmentation/capillaries, will appear darker for a few days post procedure (this would occur with IPL even without ALA).

Patients may use facial scrubs 7 days post treatment. Alternatively a microdermabrasion treatment may be performed to assist in the healing process.

A mild stinging sensation and swelling is quite normal.

Should excessive redness, swelling, blistering or crusting occur, contact Dr Alia Nasser at THE CLINIC – this usually suggests exposure to light in the post treatment phase.
