Influencer Laura Dundovic talks SkinPen
A long term client of The Clinic, Australian Model and Influencer Laura Dundovic is well known for her beautiful, flawless skin. Here at The Clinic, we’d like to take at least a little bit of the credit! Recently we introduced Laura to an exciting new treatment available at The Clinic – the SkinPen. Read on to discover all about Laura’s skin journey, her biggest skin concerns and what she thought of her first SkinPen experience.
Laura first came to see us three years ago to prepare her skin for the many red carpet events she attends, and we introduced her to our signature treatment, the Blueberry Peel. She has been a huge fan of it ever since, seeing us regularly to create that instant glow before a special event. Having tried a few different treatments with us already, Laura was keen to step up her skincare regime to something slightly more invasive which promised more drastically improved results... Say hello to our newest treatment tool - the SkinPen.
LAURA’S SKIN CONCERNS
As a self-confessed “summer chaser,” one of Laura’s main skin concerns was sun damage and pigmentation. After enduring a terrible accident on set of a modelling job, Laura ended up with some deep scarring to her leg which she was wanting to treat with the SkinPen to reduce its overall appearance. Being a professional model and television presenter, Laura needs to look her best at all times and for her skin to be in extraordinary condition.

LAURA’S FAVOURITE TREATMENTS AT THE CLINIC
Starting out with our introductory treatment, the Blueberry Peel, Laura’s treatment regime has gradually progressed over the years as a client of The Clinic. Beginning with Blueberry Peels on her face, neck and chest, Laura has moved onto Ultraformer to achieve skin tightening and anti-ageing benefits, and to improve the contours of her cheek lines. Most recently, Laura underwent the SkinPen treatment to treat her sun damage, improve her collagen production and minimise surgical scarring resulting from an accident on set. By alternating SkinPen treatments, Blueberry Peels and Ultraformer throughout the year, she is able to achieve a more even skin tone and firmer, hydrated, more glowing skin.
WHY DID LAURA CHOOSE SKINPEN?
Having tried a range of treatments at The Clinic, Laura was excited to try the SkinPen, a more intensive treatment, to see more dramatic improvements to her skin. She was specifically interested in the benefits of reducing pigmentation from sun damage and minimising the deep scarring she sustained to her leg in an accident last year. She was also interested to see an improvement in her skin tone and the increased collagen production generated by the treatment. The minimal post-treatment downtime of 1-2 days perfectly suited her busy schedule.

WHAT IS THE SKINPEN TREATMENT?
An increasingly popular treatment at The Clinic, SkinPen is a medical micro-needling device used to treat pigmentation, acne or surgical scarring. A form of collagen induction therapy, the SkinPen uses tiny needles to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing response. After undergoing a SkinPen treatment, the body responds by forming new tissue and skin cells, producing significant improvements to the overall tone and texture of the skin.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SKINPEN?
The SkinPen offers a range of benefits to your skin tone, texture and appearance, including:
- Stimulating cell multiplication and collagen remodelling.
- Harmonising pigmentation, discolouration, melasma or age spots.
- Breaking down scar tissue to repair acne scarring or surgical scars.
- Can be performed at different depths to target specific problem areas.
- Minimal downtime required after treatment.
WHO IS SKINPEN SUITABLE FOR?
The SkinPen treatment does not use any active ingredients or laser/light therapy, and is therefore suitable for sensitive skins, darker skin tones and acne prone skin.
SkinPen is highly recommended for treating pigmentation, including sun damage and uneven skin tone. While it is not safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, SkinPen is an ideal treatment for post-pregnancy pigmentation such as melasma.
As SkinPen helps to break down and repair scar tissue, it is a recommended treatment for acne prone skin or those affected by surgical scarring. Perfect for targeting specific skin concerns, SkinPen is also suitable for boosting general elasticity and hydration.
WHAT WERE THE RESULTS OF LAURA’S SKINPEN TREATMENT?
A week or two after undergoing the SkinPen treatment, Laura noticed more even skin tone over her face, and a reduction in her pigmentation and discolouration. She found there has been an increase in the elasticity and hydration of her skin, a result of the natural collagen which has been produced. Her make-up artists have also been commenting on her flawless skin, meaning Laura needs less make up in her photoshoots to achieve the desired look.
