Anna Lahey on Ingestible Beauty & Skincare Goals

This week we sat down with Vida Glow founder Anna Lahey to chat all things Vida Glow, wellness and her personal skincare goals. 

Tell us about Vida Glow and how the company has grown since you started it? 

Vida Glow is, quite simply, my passion. Everything from the brand’s beginnings, its philosophy and scientific innovation reflect my personal drive for helping people discover real results. I founded Vida Glow with my husband Kieran in 2014 when we launched our first product, a natural marine collagen peptide powder. A lot has changed since then. When Vida Glow launched seven years ago, marine collagen wasn’t the beauty buzzword it is today. However now, we sell one unit of our Natural Marine Collagen every four seconds. We had a first-mover approach with marine collagen, and we take this perspective into everything we create. As the business grows, we’ve extended our product offering creating first-to-market solutions. We created the world’s first effervescent beauty powder with Anti-G-Ox. And our recent launch of Radiance, an ingestible capsule targeting uneven skin tone, is changing people’s perspectives of what an ingestible product can do in a beauty routine. We’re passionate about continuing to push the boundaries of beauty and create targeted solutions for modern beauty concerns.

What are the benefits of ingestible collagen and your supplements? 

Ingestible beauty, like marine collagen supplements, absorb through the bloodstream to reach skin from within, where actives are most efficacious. What are your skin goals this Spring? 

After having three children, pigmentation is one of my primary skin concerns. Brightening my dark spots and protecting my skin is always the goal, and it’s particularly important as we head into summer. How will you reach this goal? I’ve always been committed to a tailored and consistent skincare routine, and I’ve just introduced Vida Glow’s Radiance to my regimen. Radiance is our new skin- brightening capsule, which softens dark marks and improves the appearance of melasma and dark undereye circles. Tell us about your morning skincare and wellness routine

I believe in a well-rounded skincare routine that starts by treating beauty concerns from within. In the morning, I take our Original Natural Marine Collagen in glass of water. Then, my skincare routine includes a gentle cleanse, followed by an antioxidant serum, moisturiser and sunscreen. To look after myself physically and mentally, every day I’ll carve out some time to do a workout at home. I’ve always found exercise to be extremely helpful for my mental clarity. For just that short time, I’m able to switch off. Best piece of advice relating to skincare and wellness? Keep it simple. If you’re realistic, you’re more likely to stick to a routine. It’s true of anything, but it’s important to keep in mind to maintain your skincare regimen and wellbeing long-term.
